Mindfulness certainly isn’t for everyone and its important to note that there might be some personal situations where taking part in a full 8 week course would not be appropriate.
If you are experiencing an extremely difficult time right now or in the midst of a serious mental illness, then it is not recommended that you learn mindfulness at this point in time. Mindfulness is not a replacement for any existing therapy or treatment that you might be undergoing and shouldn’t be replacing any one-to-one care you are currently receiving. Full details of exclusion criteria are given at the point of applying to do the course but feel free to speak directly with Kate about this or your GP if you have any concerns.
