Thanks so much Kate for my mindfulness taster session. I really enjoyed it & thought you seemed like a natural, confident & knowledgeable teacher. The 30 minutes flew by! I found it particularly Interesting how we can relate the practices to daily life, helping us find calm by simply noticing our body or breath. These are such great tools which anyone can use. I like how each session focuses on a different practice too. Highly recommend your free sessions to everyone. I can imagine the eight week course will be brilliant too 😁

When I joined the course, I did not really expect a class format with homework…However, after the first sessions, I found this structure important to establish a discipline, practice different activities with a learning mind set. The progression allows us to practice and reflect on the activities without feeling overwhelmed by experimentation.
Regarding the group dynamic, it was very pleasant and helpful to share feelings and thoughts. It was also good that the group was small, I am not sure I would have felt at ease with too many people around.

We were taught a range of different practices so you can find what suits you. I enjoyed having a designated time each week to practice.
[It taught me] To learn how to respond to some of my feelings with kindness. I knew how to detect anxiety and stress in my body and reactions but I tended to feel guilty and find a rational explanation and response. With the course, I learned how to feel and think with another lens. I really like the expression "stop the automatic pilot" with the image of being a kind of determined machine that should not feel weak. It has taught me a different way to approach some thought processes and realise that I do not have to feel guilty about giving myself time to practice. It benefits me and the people around me. If the person is interested in alternative treatments/wellbeing then I would recommend it. It could be beneficial to many people that suffer from anxiety/stress etc but they would have to be open to this type of course. .
